I had a nice surprise this morning.

As I was on my way to attending my first Travel Blogging workshop, I started receiving email comments on a short true story that I had submitted for a travel writing competition a couple of weeks ago. Mmmm I wonder what that means, I thought.
Quick quick, let’s check the competition webpage before the tutor starts speaking! And that’s when I saw that my submission had got a special mention!!!!
No, I am not the winner (that would have been too good for my first competition ever) – yet I am really really happy with the special mention :-)

The story is one I had originally posted on this blog as My friend Lan Anh, a true story of an encounter with a Vietnamese girl.
